Comments: Sloop Industry (John Hutchins [Hutchings]) was owned by Hutchins & Co. She was en route from Bermuda to Virginia with a cargo of salt when she was captured by HM Armed Sloop Haerlem (Lieutenant John Knight) and HM Brig Tender Stanley (Lieutenant Richard Whitworth) on 29 May 1777. Industry was ordered in to New York.
