Comments: Brig Falmouth (John Martin), out of Falmouth, Massachusetts (now Maine) and bound for Barbados in ballast, was captured off Carlisle Bay, Barbados at 1200 on 31 March 1776 by HM Frigate Argo (Captain William Garnier). Argo had sailed from Carlisle Bay, Barbados at 0600. A prize crew of the gunner, a petty officer and eight sailors was put aboard and she was sent into St. John's, Antigua for trial and was condemned there on 18 May 1776 (or by 1 May 1776). Her capture was reported in the Philadelphia papers on 24 July 1776.
