Comments: Maryland Privateer Schooner Adventure (Commander Thomas Robinson) was captured by the British in 1781. She had a nominal crew of seven men and was armed with one howitzer. Adventure was owned by James Williams, Joseph Williams, Richard Barnaby, David Robinson, and William Avery, all of Maryland. She was the former English vessel William. Adventure was tried and condemned in the High Court of Admiralty where she is described as an American merchant vessel.
