Comments: Mary was at Nantes, France on 3 May 1777, having lately arrived from Charleston, South Carolina. She was captured by HMS Prince of Wales (Captain Samuel Barrington). A French officer who was a passenger aboard the Mary was ordered to be confined as a prisoner of war on 20 June 1777.
