Comments: The 30-ton sloop Hope (John Jutua) was bound from Boston, Massachusetts to St. Pierre, Martinique (or to Saint-Domingue) with a cargo of lumber and fish. She was sailing with a crew of four men and was owned by Jutua. On 18 June 1777 Hope was captured in Boston Bay by HM Frigate Ambuscade (Captain John Macartney) and sent into Halifax.
