Comments: The sloop Hero (Jos. Feribault; owned by Hubbard, Green & Co.) was bound from Boston, Massachusetts to Saint-Domingue with a cargo of lumber, fish and candles. On 30 July 1777, off Cape Sable, Nova Scotia, she was captured by HM Frigate Mermaid and sent into Halifax, Nova Scotia.
