Comments: HM Frigate Glasgow (Captain Thomas Pasley) was southwest of the Caicos Islands on 21 July 1777. At 0700 she sighted a sail to the northwest and chased. At 1000 three gunshots brought the sloop Antonio to a stop. She was French owned, but was bound from North Carolina to Cap Français, Saint-Domingue with a cargo of lumber and pitch; reason enough to send her in. An officer and a prize crew went aboard and she was sent off for Jamaica, British West Indies. Antonio was tried and condemned there.
