Comments: The brig Adrian [Adrain; Adriane] (George Kelley) was bound from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to France with a cargo of tobacco, flour, bread and staves. About the beginning of July 1776 she was captured off the Delaware Capes by HM Frigate Orpheus and HM Sloop Kingsfisher. She was probably sent into New York, New York. Her trial and condemnation records in the High Court of Admiralty indicate she was an American (or French) merchant brig.
