Comments: Schooner John (Ezekiel Woodbury), was en route to the foreign West Indies from Boston, Massachusetts, with a cargo of bale goods and iron. She was captured by HM Frigate Antelope (Captain Charles H. Everitt) and HM Sloop Diligence (Commander Thomas Davey) about January 1778. The date of capture is arbitrary, and could have been in February. John was sent into Jamaica, British West Indies, and tried and condemned there.
