Comments: HM Frigate Lizard (Captain Thomas Mackenzie) was patrolling off Charleston, South Carolina in February 1778, part of a small task force interdicting traffic in the area. At midnight on 13 February (0000) she captured the brig Ann (Edward Edwards), bound from Newburyport, Massachusetts to Charleston, with a cargo of bricks and lumber. Ann was captured off Stono Inlet, South Carolina. The prize was sent off to St. Augustine, East Florida.
