Comments: Snow Thomas (Thomas Nicholson) was captured by the Continental Navy Brig Andrew Doria on 12 December 1776. Lieutenant Joshua Barney was put aboard as prize master. The vessel was recaptured by HM Frigate Perseus twelve miles east by north of Cape May on 12 January 1777 after a four hour chase. Barney and the prize crew were landed at Charleston, South Carolina after being generally well-treated by the British.
