Comments: Sloop Prosperous Polly was near Turks Island, British West Indies on 21 January 1777. She had a cargo of salt and dry goods aboard and was bound from Cap Français, Saint-Domingue to Baltimore, Maryland. She was sighted and chased by HM Sloop Badger (Lieutenant Charles Holmes Everitt) at 0100. It took ten guns from Badger before Prosperous Polly gave up. Two men went aboard as a prize crew and she was sent off to Jamaica, British West Indies, where she was tried and condemned.
