Comments: Sloop Peggy (Alexander Thompson) was en route to Philadelphia from Savannah on 10 January 1777, when she fell in with HM Frigate Roebuck (Captain Andrew Snape Hamond) some forty-eight miles southeast of Cape Henlopen. Sighted at 0400, little Peggy was soon captured. She was taken into Antigua by Roebuck and condemned there.
