Comments: HM Sloop Badger (Lieutenant Charles Holmes Everitt) was on patrol about nine miles northeast of Turks Island, British West Indies on 25 January 1777. A sail was seen to the southeast and Badger began chasing. At 2200 she caught up with the chase: brig Molly, bound from New London, Connecticut to Môle Saint-Nicolas, Saint-Domingue with a cargo of horses and lumber. An officer and four men went aboard as a prize crew and Molly was sent into Jamaica, British West Indies. Molly was tried and condemned there.
