Comments: Schooner Adventure (Thomas Robinson) was preparing to sail with a cargo of flour and staves. Robinson swore to the schooner’s manifest on 12 December 1776 and the Maryland Council of Safety gave him permission to sail for St. Eustatius, Netherlands West Indies on the same day. About January 1777 Adventure was captured by the un-commissioned British Privateer Sloop Reprisal (William Bell) and sent into Antigua, British West Indies. She was condemned there on 5 February 1777 and sold for £1770.19.4.
[NDAR, VII, 467 and note; XI, 124-130. Robinson commanded another schooner Adventure, also captured by the British, in 1781]
