Comments: Schooner Hannah and Elizabeth, with her cargo of lumber, was some eighteen miles northwest of Monte Christi, Santo Domingo on 1 February 1777. She was sighted and chased by HM Sloop Badger (Lieutenant Charles Holmes Everitt), who fired three 4-pounders to bring her to. Hannah and Elizabeth was bound from York, Massachusetts [Maine] to Cap Français, Saint-Domingue. She was taken twelve miles offshore from the French island. She was sent into Jamaica, British West Indies and tried and condemned there.
