Comments: HM Sloop Badger (Lieutenant Charles Holmes Everitt) was on patrol on 7 February 1777, about eighteen miles northeast of Monte Christi, Santo Domingo. At 0600 she sighted a sail to the northeast. Badger fired six 4-pounders and three swivels to bring the chase to. The prize was the schooner Hannah, with lumber and fish, bound to Cap Français, Saint-Domingue from New London, Connecticut. She was escorted into Jamaica, British West Indies, where she was tried and condemned.
