Comments: The brig Florian (James Dowell) was bound from Charleston, South Carolina to Nantes, France with a cargo of rice, indigo, fustic, and pimento. On 5 April 1777 she was captured by HMS Raisonable and taken in to Plymouth, England. Florian was tried in the High Court of Admiralty and condemned in 1777.
