Comments: This unidentified ship was bound from Newburyport (or Beverly), Massachusetts to South Carolina with a cargo of lumber and fish. She was sighted to the southwest by HM Frigate Diamond, seventy-five miles southeast of Cape Ann, Massachusetts, on 28 April 1777. Diamond began chasing. At 1500 Diamond fired five guns at the chase which surrendered at 1530. She is credited to HM Frigates Diamond and Greyhound in Howe’s prize list.
