Comments: HM Sloop West Florida (Lieutenant George Burdon) was patrolling Lakes Borgne and Ponchartrain in April 1777. He captured three vessels, two with tobacco and wine and one with pine tar. All three were sent to Pensacola, West Florida, and probably arrived in April. One was lost on Rose Island, West Florida, but no lives were lost. The Spanish later claimed these were Spanish property.
