Comments: Connecticut Privateer Sloop Abigail (Commander Ackley Riley) captured, on 3 September 1777, the 90-ton sloop General Burgoyne (John Smith). She was bound to Lloyd’s Neck, Long Island, New York to collect fuel for the British army in the city. She was libeled on 10 September 1777 and condemned.
