Comments: Massachusetts Privateer Schooner Dolphin was at sea under Commander John Leech in late September or early October 1776. The 40-ton schooner Prosperity (Josiah Beal) was captured by a schooner Dolphin, which is almost certainly the one at sea. She was sent into port and libeled in the Maritime Court of the Middle District on 24 October 1776, and tried and condemned on 19 November 1776.
