Comments: About the beginning of October 1776 the ship Christian (Abiel Wood [Le Sized]) was captured in the Sheepscot River, Massachusetts [Maine], seemingly by a party of men from the shore. Christian was libeled in the Massachusetts Maritime Court of the Eastern District on 14 October, by one Andrew Lepear, and tried on 14 November 1776. Her loss was reported in the London newspaper on 27 December 1776.
