Comments: Massachusetts Privateer Ship Viper (Commander William Williams) captured the British ship Margaret on the day after her battle with British New York Privateer Hetty, in which Williams was killed. Margaret was bound to New York from Charleston with butter, beef, pork, and porter. She was safely taken into Philadelphia.
