Comments: Massachusetts Privateer Schooner Harlequin (Commander John Tucker) sailed from Salem, perhaps in September 1776. She captured the 100-ton snow Mercury (Eaglesfield Griffith) by 13 December 1776. Mercury had a cargo of rum and sugar. The prize was sent into Portsmouth, New Hampshire. She also captured the 100-ton brig, or bark, Betty (John Sibbrell). Libels were filed against these prizes on 9 January 1777 in the Maritime Court of the Middle District and they were tried on 28 January.
