Comments: The 26-ton schooner Charming Anne (or Charming Annis, Jones) was bound for Nova Scotia with a cargo of provisions. She was captured, possibly in November 1776, by New Hampshire Privateer Sloop Putnam (Commander John Harmon) or Massachusetts Privateer Sloop Putnam (Commander Joseph Bayley, Jr.). She was sent into Massachusetts [Maine] and was libeled in the Maritime Court of the Eastern District on 18 November 1776, and tried on 11 December 1776.
