Comments: Sloop Nancy (or Nance) was carrying a large cargo of provisions for Nantucket Island when she put into Buzzard's Bay on 4 June 1775. When Colonel Joshua Davis of the Massachusetts militia, who was then returning from a mission to secure excess provisions from Nantucket, heard of the arrival he set out to secure the vessel. Davis ordered Hatch to place the sloop in Dartmouth on 6 June, where she was secured. Presumably the vessel was later released.
