Comments: Connecticut Privateer Brigantine Deane (Commander Daniel Scovell) was at sea in July 1781. On 2 July 1781 Deane captured brig Jenny, bound from Jamaica to England, with a cargo of rum, sugar and other items. She mounted 12 guns and had a crew of thirty-three men. She was sent in, possibly to New London, and libeled. Jenny was the second brig captured of that name, but perhaps they are both the same.
