Comments: Massachusetts Privateer Brigantine Civil Usage (Commander Andrew Giddings) was at sea in mid July 1777. On 19 July, she took the 80 or 90-ton brigantine or brig Juno (Joseph Barnes [Barms]), at 50°30'N, 13°W. Juno was bound from Newfoundland to Poole, England. She was taken into Bilboa and then sent to Salem, Massachusetts, where she was libeled on 4 December 1777, with trial set for 23 December.
