Comments: Massachusetts Privateer Brigantine Fancy (Commander John Lee) captured, in European waters, the 180-ton brig or brigantine Dillon (Le Fevre [Le Fabre]), a French vessel bound to Genoa and Leghorn. She was taken on 24 July 1777. Although owned in Dunkerque, France, she was bound from North Yarmouth, England with valuable bale goods aboard. She arrived at Newburyport, Massachusetts on 4 September 1777, where she was said to be the richest prize of the war. Dillon was libeled on 18 September 1777 with trial set for 7 October 1777.
