Comments: Massachusetts Privateer Brigantine Fancy (Commander John Lee) was at sea in European waters in mid-1777. She captured the 130-ton brig (or brigantine) Cleveland (James [John] Norman), with flour and peas, from London, England to Halifax, Nova Scotia, under escort of the Bristol, on 19 July 1777 at 48°40'N, 16°30'W. Cleveland was sent to Newburyport. She was libeled on 6 October 1777 with trial set for 10 October 1777.1
