Comments: Ship Totness was freighted and sent to Baltimore, Maryland where the local Committee of Safety hasd already denounced the owner for violation of the Continental Association. When they learned the Totness had arrived, the Committee interviewed the consignees of the cargo and then ordered the ship secured and brought up to Baltimore (11 July 1775). Before she could be brought up to Baltimore a number of local people demonstrated their resentment by burning the vessel.
