Comments: This unknown schooner was chased ashore on Saybrook bar, off Saybrook, Connecticut, by HM Sloop Kingsfisher. After throwing her cargo overboard the crew abandoned ship and Kingsfisher sent a barge and crew to take possession. The British got aboard, but could not get the vessel afloat and left her. They were hastened in their retreat by musketry from the militia assembled on shore.
