Comments: The brig Francis, with a cargo of fish, was seemingly sailing off the Spanish coast in December 1778. She encountered the Massachusetts Privateer Brig Vengeance (Commander Wingate Newman) on 27 December and was captured. Francis seems to have been sold in Spain.
