Comments: The brigantine Perseverance (John Landers [Lander]), a 50-ton vessel, was en route from Newfoundland to Halifax, Nova Scotia, and then to Ireland. She was captured by Massachusetts Privateer Schooner Hawke (Commander John Lee) and sent into Newburyport or Boston, Massachusetts. She was libeled on 13 February 1777, with trial set for 25 February 1777.
