Comments: Sloop Sally (John Van Emburgh) was en route to New York when captured by HM Frigate Niger near Bermuda, early in December 1775. A prize crew of six was put aboard and she was ordered into Boston. She parted company with Niger on 21 December. Vessel was taken while Warren was commanded by Winborn Adams, on Christmas Eve. Libeled 26 February 1776. She was sold about 25 May 1776 for £1475.4.9, but captors only realized £150.5.9 because of the rules regarding shares and recaptures.
