Comments: Sloop Agatha (Wilson), owned by Shadden & Co. of Norfolk, Virginia (John Shedden of Norfolk, Robert Shedden of Portsmouth, and John Syme of Smithfield) sailed from Virginia in August 1775 for the Grenadines, where he loaded rum for himself, Christopher Calvert, Jr., the supercargo, and Isaac Wilson of Portsmouth, Virginia. Agatha was captured on her return, possibly by Virginia Navy Schooner Liberty (Captain James Barron). She was at Hampton on 30 December 1775. Robert Shedden was determined to have violated the Continental Association by the Virginia Convention. The convention ordered the sloop and part of the cargo sold on 5 January 1776.
