Comments: Connecticut Privateer Sloop Hawk (Commander Gideon Olmstead) was at sea in April 1780. On 22 April Olmstead captured the British brigantine St. Andrew (James McAlpin). She was owned in New York by James McAlpine & Sons and George Gearcey, and was outbound to the West Indies when captured. St Andrew was sent into Connecticut, where she was libeled on 6 May 1780. Her mate, Thomas Christian, was deposed on 1 May, which meant she had arrived before then.
