Comments: Connecticut Privateer Sloops American Revenue (Commander William Leeds) and Revenge (Commander Nathan Post) captured the 50-ton sloop Dispatch about April 1779. Dispatch was bound from the West Indies with a cargo of sugar and rum, and was armed with eight swivel guns. Dispatch was sent into New London and arrived on 16 May 1779. She was advertised for sale at New London on 27 May, with the sale to be held on 8 June.
