Massachusetts Privateer Brigantine Venus was commissioned on 18 April 1780 under Commander Nathaniel Harmon of Boston, Massachusetts. She was listed as being armed with six guns and as having a crew of twenty men. Her $10000 Continental and £4000 Massachusetts bonds were executed by Harmon and by Mungo Mackay and Daniel McNeill, both of Boston.1
