New Hampshire Privateer Brigantine Roxene was commissioned on 9 February 1782 under Commander Richard Kitson of Portsmouth, New Hampshire. She was reported with four guns and a crew of sixteen men. Roxene was bonded for $20,000 by Kitson, Mark Seavey and William Plaisted, both of Portsmouth.1
