New Hampshire Privateer Schooner Mary was commissioned on 5 July 1777 under Commander James Arnold of Portsmouth, New Hampshire. She was listed as having a battery of six guns and a crew of twenty men. Her $5,000 bond was signed by Arnold and by Benjamin Mackay and Jacob Sheafe, Jr., both of Portsmouth.1
