The 250-ton Maryland Privateer Ship Carolina was commissioned on 1 January 1783 under Commander John Angus1 of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.2 She was listed as being armed with sixteen guns and as having a crew of sixty men. Her owners are given as John Wright Stanly of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.3
Carolina made at least one voyage to Cuba. She was at Havana, Cuba on 21 July 1783, and sailed from there for Europe.4
