Comments:
Massachusetts Privateer Boat Caesar was commissioned on 7 August 1782 under Commander John Harvey of Boston, Massachusetts. She had no battery, being armed only with small arms and listed a crew of twenty men. Her $20000 bond was executed by Harvey, owner William De Luce and Thomas Watson of Boston. Caesar was recommissioned on 29 August 1782 under Commander Benjamin Slater of Boston. She listed the same battery (or lack of), the same crew, and her new bond was executed by the same bonders, except Slater replaced Harvey.1
