Pennsylvania Privateer Schooner Betsey was commissioned on 3 November 1781 under Commander George Dames1 (or Darnes)2 of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Aboard her as First Mate was William Connell of Philadelphia. She was listed as being armed with four guns and having a crew of twelve men.
