Massachusetts Privateer Schooner Betsey was commissioned on 10 June 1779 under Commander Rene Chaloche of Boston, Massachusetts. She was listed as being armed with some guns, one swivel, and having a crew of ten men. Her $5000 Continental bond and £4000 Massachusetts bond were signed by Chaloche and by John Larreguy and J. E. Dallet, “merchants of Boston.” Her owners were listed as John Larreguy and others.1
