Massachusetts Privateer Schooner Aurora was commissioned on 1 August 1778 under Commander Redmond Hackett of Boston, Massachusetts. She was listed as being armed with six guns and six swivel guns and as having a crew of thirty men. Her $5000 Continental bond and £4000 Massachusetts bond were executed by Hackett and by George Lynham and Gene Jolly of Boston. The last two were listed as Aurora’s owners.1
