Comments:
Pennsylvania Privateer Sloop Alphen (also Alphin, Elthin), was the second incarnation of Maryland Privateer Sloop Alphin, with different owners listed. She was commissioned under Job Pray of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on 8 September 1781. She was armed with ten guns and listed a crew of thirty men. Her bond of $20000 was executed by Low and Pray. A note attached to the original Maryland commission, and dated 18 January 1782, indicates that Low was considering obtaining another Maryland commission.1 See Maryland Privateer Sloop Alphin.
