Comments:
Massachusetts Privateer Brig Adventure was commissioned on 20 August 1782 under Jonathan Tucker of Salem, Massachusetts, with a bond of $20000 being given by the commander, owner Norris, and James King of Salem. She was listed as having four guns and a ten man crew.1
Adventure was captured by the British about July or August 1782. According to the Salem Gazette of 10 October 1782 a cartel vessel arrived from Bermuda on 7 October with prisoners from Boston, Gloucester, and Salem. These reported that, among the vessels recently taken in to Bermuda, was the Adventure of Salem.2
