The [unknown] Privateer Brig Adventure was one of eight privateers working together in 1780, the others being South Carolina Privateer Schooner Cassandra, ship Marquis, brigs Trooper, Randolph and Betsey, and schooner Vengeance and Maryland Privateer Schooner Young Neptune. The squadron had a regular set of signals, revealed when HMS Bristol captured Cassandra.1 This privateer may possibly have been the Pennsylvania Privateer Brig Adventure (Commander John Leamy), commissioned 15 July 1780 (qv.).
